Cardiac rehabilitation
Cardiac rehabilitation aims to help you recover from a cardiovascular event — such as a heart attack or heart failure — or other debilitating heart condition. This recovery process usually involves physical therapy, exercise and education to rebuild and maintain your heart strength.
Conditions treated at our cardiac rehabilitation center
Our services are designed for people who have experienced heart-related procedures or conditions, such as:
- Angioplasty
- Chest pain from activity or stress
- Heart attack
- Heart bypass surgery
- Heart transplant
- Heart valve repair
- Heart valve replacement
Our cardiac rehabilitation program
Upon being referred and admitted to our program, you will complete orientation in English or Spanish. We accept Medicare and Medicaid and will communicate any out-of-pocket costs as soon as possible.
Features of our cardiac exercise program
After having you go through a preliminary physical evaluation and functional exercise test, you will participate in on-site exercise sessions using multiple pieces of equipment, including:
- Ellipticals
- Free weights
- Recumbent cycles and steppers
- Rowing machines
- Stationary bicycles
- Treadmills
- Weight machines
Sessions can take place up to three days per week. Each session is telemetry monitored, lasts for approximately one hour, and up to 36 sessions may be approved by your insurance provider. Your referring physician may also consider our exercise program as an extension of their practice, and shared data from each session can help them monitor your progress.
