Healthgrades 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award

El Paso, Texas — Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare announced today that its hospitals, Del Sol Medical Center and Las Palmas Medical Center, received a 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ from Healthgrades for providing exceptional, patient-centered care. This distinction places Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare facilities among the top 10% of hospitals for their commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care. This is the seventh consecutive year that Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare facilities have received this recognition.

“At Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare, our teams are dedicated to delivering the highest quality care to the El Paso community,” Alejandro Romero, chief executive officer of Las Palmas Medical Center, said. “Being ranked among the top 10% nationally for patient safety for the seventh consecutive year is an incredible honor and a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence.”

Recognition on this list is based solely on patient outcomes. To determine the top-performing hospitals for patient safety, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted complication and mortality rates for approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. The annual study found that patients treated in hospitals that received the 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award have a significantly lower chance of experiencing certain complications than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals.

Earlier this year, Del Sol Medical Center and Las Palmas Medical Center were also named on the 2025 Healthgrades America’s 250 Best Hospitals list for being within the top 5% of hospitals in the country for clinical excellence. Also based exclusively on patient outcomes, the annual designation is reserved for hospitals that demonstrate superior performance in providing care for conditions and procedures across multiple specialty lines and areas.

“We know patients and their families trust us to deliver exceptional care in a safe environment to ensure the best possible outcomes,” Art Garza, chief executive officer of Del Sol Medical Center, said. “This recognition from Healthgrades reaffirms our unwavering commitment to patient safety and the high standard of care we provide every day.”
