Our Diabetes Treatment Center provides comprehensive therapies, as well as education to teach patients how to enjoy a healthy lifestyle while managing their condition. We are committed to providing patients with effective, timely and safe treatments while also supporting them as they learn to understand and cope with the physical, mental and social implications of living with diabetes.

Diabetes is a serious disease that can cause severe medical complications, and even death. Yet, despite its prevalence, many who have the disease don’t know it. Early diagnosis, treatment and education on self management skills is essential.

Diabetes Treatment Program at Las Palmas Medical Center features:

• Programs for both new and previously diagnosed patients 
• Meal planning/food-label reading
• Injection of insulin, when appropriate
• Insulin pump training
• Exercise regime as prescribed by physician
• Stress symptoms and how to cope with them
• Self blood-glucose monitoring and log keeping
• Signs, symptoms and treatment of hypo- and hyper-glycemia
• Prevention and detection of chronic complications 
• Proper foot care
• Pathophysiology of diabetes
• Sick-day rules
