Our Diabetes Treatment Center provides comprehensive therapies, as well as education to teach patients how to enjoy a healthy lifestyle while managing their condition. We are committed to providing patients with effective, timely and safe treatments while also supporting them as they learn to understand and cope with the physical, mental and social implications of living with diabetes. Our outpatient comprehensive diabetes education program is recognized by ADA (American Diabetes Association).

Diabetes is a serious disease that can cause severe medical complications, and even death. Yet, despite its prevalence, many who have the disease don’t know it. As part of Del Sol Medical Center’s efforts to improve the health of our community, we offer free diabetes screening tests every week.

2-4 p.m. every Wednesday in Suite 100

The Outpatient Diabetes Treatment Center Program at
Del Sol Medical Center features:

• Programs for both new and previously diagnosed patients
• Meal planning/food-label reading
• Injection of insulin, when appropriate
• Exercise regimen as prescribed by physician
• Stress symptoms and how to cope with them
• Self blood-glucose monitoring and log keeping
• Signs, symptoms and treatment of hypo- and hyper-glycemia
• Prevention and detection of chronic complications
• Proper foot care
• Pathophysiology of diabetes
• Sick-day rules
• 12 weeks of exercise (with completion of comprehensive program)
