At both Las Palmas and Del Sol, we have specially marked parking areas for patients and visitors. Before leaving the hospitals one of our greeters will be happy to stamp your tickets for free parking.

Las Palmas and Del Sol each have cafeterias the hospital. In addition to our cafeterias each hospital has a coffee bars that serve sandwiches, pastries, and other goodies.

The Medical Records Office at both Las Palmas and Del Sol can help you obtain your medical records. There is, however, a fee associated with this service. Due to HIPPA regulations medical records can only be released to the patient.

Things to remember before surgery:
- Nothing to eat or drink as per instructed by your physician.
- Do not bring valuables on day of surgery.
- No makeup, especially mascara. No metal clips, piercing or contact lenses.
- Wear loose and comfortable clothing. Do take a bath or shower the morning of your procedure.
- Do arrange someone to drive you home and stay with you for 24 hours.
- Do call your physician if you develop cold symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose) or any other medical problem.
- Arrive at the Outpatient Department 2 hours prior to your surgery time. Also bring any papers from the doctor's office. Do bring a list of any medications you take include the dose and frequency.
- Parking is located at 1700 N. Oregon. Entrance is on Rim Rd.
Things to remember after surgery:
- It is recommended that you do not stay alone for the first 24 hours following your procedure.
- Do not drive or operate machinery for 24 hours.
- Do not drink Alcoholic beverages for 24 hours or while taking medications until consulting your physician.
- Diet as directed by your physician.
- Do not sign any important papers or make decisions for 24 hours after your procedure.
- Notify your physician or come to the Emergency Room (if you cannot contact your physician) if you experience chills, fever of 101 degrees, bleeding, or intense pain from or around the operative site, or if nausea and or vomiting become a problem.

HIPPA regulations dictate that family members need to have the patient's last name and the last four digits of the patient's account number in order to gain information on a patient.
|
Not every illness or injury requires a trip to the Emergency Room but there are serious conditions that necessitate urgent care. You should visit the ER without hesitation when experiencing the following:
- Symptoms of a heart attack, including severe chest pain, sweating and shortness of breath.
- Profuse bleeding or blood loss that continues even after direct pressure has been placed on the wound.
- Severe abdominal pain.
- Sudden dizziness, weakness, loss of coordination, balance or vision problems.
- High fever and vomiting that continues nonstop for several hours.
- Signs of meningitis: severe headaches, neck/joint pain and stiffness, vomiting, high temperature, sensitivity to light (adults); high-pitched whimpering/crying, lethargy, fussiness, restlessness, high fever, vomiting, cold extremities, refusing food, pale or blotchy skin (babies, small children).
- Seizures lasting longer than five minutes.
- Injuries occurring from an accident or fall ? intense back or neck pain, obvious compound fractures and/or dislocations of bones, deep cuts and severe burns.
