Jacob Cintron, FACHE, CEO

Jacob Cintron, FACHE, is the Chief Executive Officer for Del Sol Medical Center, a position he has held for the last five years. During this time, Del Sol Medical Center has seen phenomenal growth and a culture change that has helped establish the hospital as a true leader in both physician satisfaction and engagement, and in technology and quality measures.

Jacob is a native El Pasoan and senior healthcare executive with over 20 years of progressive experience in the healthcare industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering, a Master of Business Administration Degree, and a Master of Accountancy Degree all from UT El Paso. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Under his leadership, Del Sol Medical Center has earned many quality awards in the last few years such as:

• TMF Health Quality Institute Award of Excellence (the only El Paso hospital to receive such an honor.
• “Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare Magazine (the only El Paso to receive such an honor).
• Top Five Percent in the Nation by HealthGrades in Maternity Services (2009/2010 & 2010/2011).
• Top Five Percent in the Nation by HealthGrades in General Surgery (2010/2011).
• Top Five Percent in the Nation by HealthGrades in Gastrointestinal Surgery (2010/2011).
• American Heart Association’s Gold Performance Award Achievement Award for “Get with the Guidelines.”
• The Joint Commission for Health Care Quality Gold Seal of Approval for the Burn & Wound Management Program.
• The Joint Commission for Health Care Quality Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Primary Stroke Centers.

Within the community Jacob shares his time, knowledge and leadership skills as a board member with several community organizations. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce; the Board of the Paso Del Norte Health Foundation; the Board of the United Way of El Paso; the Board of Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center; and on the Board for REDCO, the El Paso Regional Economic Development Corporation for the El Paso, Ciudad Juarez and Southern New Mexico Region. He is also on the Board of Directors for the UTEP Centennial Campaign.
